Quote preparation

Bring the right inputs.

This is not a calculator or a fake online quote. It is a practical checklist for the information that makes a phone conversation more useful.

Start here

Five things to know before you call.

You do not need every production detail. Bring what you know, and the shop can confirm the rest.

The piece

Business card, flyer, commercial print item, storefront sign, direct-mail piece or rush request.

Size

The finished dimensions you want—or approximate installed dimensions for a storefront sign.

Quantity

The number of pieces you are considering. If you are unsure, say so rather than guessing.

Artwork

Whether a print-ready file already exists, whether you have only source/logo files, or whether the artwork still needs preparation.

Timing request

The date you are hoping for. Rush availability is confirmed directly by the shop and is not guaranteed by this demo.

Useful by job type

A little more context can save a round trip.

Cards + flyers

Know whether the piece is one- or two-sided and whether the finished file already has the content you want.

Commercial print

Bring the piece type, quantity, dimensions and any stock/finish preference you already know. The shop can confirm what is appropriate and available.

Storefront sign

Bring the approximate size, where it will be used and any logo/artwork files. Installation/material specifics should be confirmed with the shop.

Direct mail

Bring the piece type, quantity, artwork status and mailing objective. Mailing-list, distribution and campaign details should be confirmed directly.

Rush request

Call with the exact item, quantity, file readiness and requested deadline so the shop can tell you what is realistic.
